- Launched in 1999, Afterall is a journal of contemporary art that offers in-depth analysis of artists' work, along with essays that broaden the context in which to understand it. Its academic format differentiates it from popular review magazines. In issue 47, featured artists are planned to include Gülsün Karamustafa, Armin Linke, Naeem Mohaiemen, and Araya Rasdjarmrearnsook, Thao-Nguyen Phan, and Anne-Mie Van Kerckhoven, among others.
- About The Author
- Ana Bilbao is a researcher, editor, and lecturer based in the UK. Ute Meta Bauer is an international curator, and professor of contemporary art and the director of the Centre for Contemporary Art in Singapore. Charles Esche is a curator, founding director of Afterall, Professor at the University of the Arts London and the director of the Van Abbemuseum in Eindhoven. Anders Kreuger is curator at M HKA, the Museum of Contemporary Art Antwerp, Belgium. David Morris is a lecturer at University of the Arts, London. Anca Rujoiu is a curator and manger of publications at NTU Centre for Contemporary Art Singapore. Charles Stankievech is assistant professor and director of the Visual Studies Program in the John H. Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape, and Design at the University of Toronto.
