His research interests range from clinical (atrial fibrillation, hypertension, heart failure, ethnicity and vascular disease, etc) to the laboratory (thrombogenesis, atherogenesis and vascular biology in cardiovascular disease and stroke). He has published extensively on the clinical epidemiology and pathophysiology of thrombogenesis in atrial fibrillation, and the use of antithrombotic therapy.
