- Book Synopsis
- Robert Day Jr. thrives on the thrill of the chase, lurking in the shadows, his mind obsessively searching, seeking out and feasting upon a target's hidden past traumas. Clothed in a black desire to control, devour and entirely possess his victims, he greedily absorbs their vulnerability to measure the perfect ripeness for exploitation. The compulsion to assume absolute power stems from a desire to quash his own raging insecurities that persistently plague him. It seizes him like a magnet's invisible force, compelling him to drag them into his own endless cycle of deception and destruction. It is not his fault if they readily accept the carefully crafted narratives he creates without any need for verification or validation. Yes, it fuels his twisted sense of power, but he has no sympathy for them. The ease to condition, manipulate and violate them amuses him and serves to convince him he is absolved of any wrongdoing. But, has that one fatal reaction finally exposed the hidden truth of his past? Will the infection of the poison he has spread be unearthed like the mud of a landslide? And more importantly, has he commanded his own downfall or will DSI Shona Williams and DCI Dion Jacobi be the ones to strike the final blow?
- About The Author
- Juli Flintoff is an English artist from West Yorkshire. Initially studying drama, she obtained a Bachelor of Arts from Sunderland University in Fine Art. For several years, Juli was a successful community arts development worker facilitating workshops throughout the Bradford, Calderdale, Leeds, Wakefield and Kirklees areas. After exhibiting five large banners at Bradford's International Youth Event attended by delegates from all over the world, she became involved with projects for young offenders. This led her to train as a prison officer and later a drugs dog handler. In 2010, she began caring for her elderly father and since his passing in 2011, she has dedicated her life to supporting, caring and advocating on behalf of her mother, who lives with dementia. 'Dear Diary' is Juli's fourth publication and is preceded by 'The Daisy Chain', a psychological thriller of murder and intrigue detailing the effects of early childhood trauma; 'Blame, Shame & Guilt' is a heartbreaking tale of child abuse and 'The Secret Back Door' is an inspiring book depicting the struggles of living with dementia.
