- Book Synopsis
- A little boy is alarmed when he discovers a bee in a box. At first he is frightened and reacts aggressively, but gradually he realises that the bee won't harm him and that they can be friends. I SAW A BEE is deceptively simple with the repeatability factor of the best Ruth Brown and Eric Carle, and the short and rhythmic text is perfect to learn by heart and recite as a poem. It is a timely reminder of the importance of bees in our ecosystem.
- About The Author
- Rob Ramsden lives in Suffolk and works as an illustrator and educator. He's the dad of the boy who saw a bee, whose keen observations of a bee frantically flying alongside a car and whose experiences of starting school combined to inspire Rob's debut picture book I SAW A BEE. Rob has taught illustration and animation at schools and colleges, and currently teaches at University of Suffolk. As a keen gardener, Rob has become the student, and the pollinators have become his teachers; he listens for their buzz of approval, and his type of gardening is strictly about the wildlife. He is a member of Asylum Studios in Rendlesham, Suffolk, where he can be found working on new books and collaborating on screen prints.
