The town as we see it today has Saxon origins, although archaeologists have found evidence of Bronze Age farming activity. - Mark Turner is a retired police officer and lives in Moreton-in-Marsh. He is a member of the Moreton in Marsh & District Local History Society and has written a number of books on the local history and folklore of the Cotswolds and Gloucestershire, as well as contributed to several other books and newspaper and magazine articles.
