- Twins Katrina and Alex normally live on a houseboat in London, but are spending the summer in Scotland while their mum receives treatment. Aunt Clara is an artist, like Alex, and Uncle Archie is a forest ranger. Almost right away, the twins find themselves searching for what seems to be a big cat. Or, is something stalking them?
- About The Author
- Rebecca Smith has been fascinated by big cats in the wild since she first heard tales of the Surrey puma when she was little. Shadow Cat Summer was inspired by a stay in the Scottish Highlands and her own and her children's love of the natural world. She has two (small) cats, some chickens, and is a Dog Granny to a black cocker spaniel called Ziggy. Rebecca's previous publications include The Ash Museum (Legend Press, 2021), Where's Jane (Ivy Kids, 2018), and The Jane Austen Writers' Club: Inspiration and Advice from the World's Best-Loved Novelist (Bloomsbury, 2016). She has Scottish, Indian and English heritage and teaches creative writing at the University of Southampton.
