- Olaf Stapledon (1886-1950) was a British philosopher and science fiction author. During his life, he penned many books including Last and First Men (1930), Star Maker (1937) and Sirius (1944). He died in 1950. In 2014 -64 years after his death -he was inducted into the Science Fiction and Fantasy Hall of Fame.
