- Book Synopsis
- Suffolk has long been a place of retreat, somewhere to escape to, far from everyday life. It may have its busier town centres, but in the main Suffolk remains a rural area of enormous variety , from heather covered heathland to softly rolling hills, long shingle spits to genteel coastal enclaves and kiss-me-quick seaside resorts. Whether you are looking for a morning hike or an afternoon stroll, Darren Flint and Donald Grieg's hand picked selection of 40 walks is guaranteed to fit the bill - or the boot. Suffolk boasts 5600km of public rights of way; take your pick, put your best foot forward and discover this most gentle of English counties.
- About The Author
- Darren Flint has worked across the UK and Australia before recently settling as a relative newcomer in Dumfries and Galloway. He keeps his love affair with his home territory, East Anglia, alive with regular visits to his caravan in Suffolk. After a career in tourism development and then conservation with the RSPB, he completed a Masters in Environmental Conservation from UCL. An avid naturalist with a fascination for butterflies, he likes nothing better than donning his boots and uncovering those hidden corners we all dream about. He is the project officer for two community environmental ventures: Castle Loch in Lochmaben and Moffat Community Nature Reserve; as well as co-owner of Summerlea House B&B in Moffat.
