- Book Synopsis
- Join these two highly respected, honest businessmen, who have spent almost twenty-five years building from small beginnings an award-winning, prestigious house-building company. Then the dreaded 2008 so-called credit crunch reared its ugly head. The bank they had been loyal to from day one was treating them like "Lepers". Final demands and physical threats were coming in thick and fast! At this point one of the main characters, Jack Redman was determined not to let the bastards have the last laugh. Jack the Lad was known for his cheeky but at the same time lovable nature. He had hatched a plot to rob a bank. Using, would you believe, a narrow boat as their 4mph getaway vehicle. His partner, straight-laced Frank Harrison, can't believe his ears when Jack maps out the incredibly detailed plan to rob a London bank. After much persuasion from Jack and the stress of the business inevitably going down the drain, fantasy starts to turn into reality. Join these two unlikely, endearing, and risk-taking characters on their crazy "Robin Hood"-style adventure as it unfolds. Lots of risks, laughter, and danger, not to mention a few tears, lie ahead.
- About The Author
- Mike Stovell was born to a poor but loving working-class family at the end of WW2 in the small town of Rugby in Warwickshire. Educated at three Victorian state schools, caned on a regular basis mainly for showing off to his classmates, he couldn't wait to leave school at the age of 15. He has led an exceptional and varied working life: a fireman on steam engines, an overhead linesman on pioneering electrification of the railways, a lorry driver, a publican, a market trader, an art dealer, an estate agent, and a housing developer, making and losing millions - but he still describes himself as a rich man, because he knows money isn't everything. You name it, he has done it, and you will see once you've shared his adventures that he is truly a loveable chancer that inspires hope and optimism in everything he does.
