- Book Synopsis
- Raised on a diet of adventure books and dreams formed via glossy brochures, under the questionable influence of his father, a nameless man, moulded by the desire to pursue a life of exploration, faces endless physical and emotional challenges amidst the conflicted reality of failure and shame. His story becomes a third-person poetic anti-travelogue filled with vignettes that give him a rationale and reason for his life. Told in four parts, each one beginning with a letter written to his father, the man, gradually losing hope, discovers the life he continually strived for doesn't go the way he thought or hoped, erupting into a series of unfulfilling and emotionally crippling events. With his life passing by with no real effect or meaning, he eventually accepts the need to be the author of his own story.
- About The Author
- CC Gerald was born in Yorkshire in the early 1970's, after an unremarkable childhood he vacated the UK as a 17-year-old seeking adventure overseas. There followed 8 years living variously across Canada, USA, Israel, Greece and the rest of Europe, and then a 28 year eventful career in the Music Industry. He spends his spare time whittling wood, smoking cigarettes & running.
