- Carole Bromley's second collection of poems, The Stonegate Devil, centres on her hometown of York, exploring its personal stories and history in a way that is both playful and moving, addressing childhood, relationships and coming-of-age. A number of poems also explore the poet's experiences of bereavement and loss.
- About The Author
- Carole Bromley is married with four children and twelve grandchildren. Twice a winner in The Poetry Business Book and Pamphlet Competition, she has two pamphlets with Smith/Doorstop (Unscheduled Halt, 2005 and Skylight, 2009) and a first collection, A Guided Tour of the Ice House, 2011. She has won a number of first prizes, including the Bridport, Yorkshire Open, Torbay and Bronte Society and her poems have appeared in a range of magazines and anthologies. Carole is the Poetry Society Stanza rep for York, a popular creative writing tutor and judge of the York Literature Festival Poetry Competition.
