From Abercarn in South Wales, Bettrys was schooled entirely in Welsh and immersed in Welsh tradition and culture until the age of 18. She is an actor and writer, and has performed on some of the best stages in the country including the National Theatre, RSC and The Globe. She now lives in Bristol with her husband and their son.
